And it might affect your ability obtain a work permit, after graduation.
According to a report by Toronto Star on June 8, 2024, the Immigration Department is planning to implement an overhaul to the Post Graduation Work Permit Program. And these are two of them according to the report:
- minimum language requirement will be required
- must graduate from a program tied to labour shortages
Once implemented, it is assumed that this would impact the amount of international students coming into Canada.
The only question is, will this affect the current international students in Canada?
